Martin LaPlatney
I first began to work as an actor in Seattle in the early 70's and soon ended up as a founding member of the Empty Space Company where I did some 23 plays in four years, often performing in three different shows a day. This led to working at other theatres in Seattle including ACT and Intiman Theater.
Around 1976 I moved to New York and while doing The Crucifer Of Blood on Broadway I started to study with Michael Howard. Since then I have played leading roles at many of our best regional theaters. I have also appeared on Broadway and Off-Broadway and everywhere in between. In the years since I first began I have appeared in over 100 plays (yikes!), as well as doing occasional television and film and many commercials (thank God for those).
In the 80's with the encouragement of the late Paul Giovanni (Tony nominated director and author of The Crucifer of Blood) I began to direct. First as Paul's assistant director and then at different theaters around the country.
For a long time I also had the pleasure of teaching acting with my wife and partner Susan Greenhill, first for Manhattan Class Company and then in our own studio. Presently, instead of teaching an ongoing class, I prefer to coach actors for auditions
